My teaching journey has been deeply enriched by my experiences with elementary-aged students, with my time at Scammon Elementary School playing a pivotal role in shaping my pedagogical approach. There, I had the opportunity to teach physical education within the American curriculum, focusing on elementary students' overall development. This experience laid a solid foundation in working with young learners, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded education that nurtures physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Subsequently, my tenure at Shen Wai International School introduced me to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), which elevated my teaching philosophy to a global perspective. At Shen Wai, I designed and delivered physical education lessons that seamlessly integrated with the PYP framework. These lessons not only promoted physical well-being but also embraced inquiry-based learning and intercultural understanding. My time at Shen Wai allowed me to create an inclusive and culturally diverse learning environment, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of elementary-aged students while fostering a love for lifelong learning. This journey, merging elements of the American curriculum with the principles of the IB philosophy, has been instrumental in shaping my approach to teaching elementary students today.
